Baseball Recap: Sonora Comes Up Short

Sonora lost against Murrieta Valley back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Sonora fell 5-2 to Murrieta Valley. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Damian Roman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sonora saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Crowder, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Murrieta Valley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4.

Sonora wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-3 victory against McQueen on the 18th. As for Murrieta Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Mater Dei on the 19th.
