Basketball Game Preview: Dighton Hornets vs. Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks

The Dighton Hornets will head out to face off against the Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Dighton is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 6, 2024 on Friday. They lost 68-48 to Quinter.

Meanwhile, Wheatland-Grinnell took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-22 victory over Logan/Palco. The Thunderhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 30 points or more this season.

Wheatland-Grinnell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points per game. As for Dighton, they dropped their record down to 4-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Dighton strolled past Wheatland-Grinnell in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 61-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dighton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
