Basketball Recap: Middletown Find Success

If Colerain wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Middletown, they should've done a better job of containing Leila Johnson. The Middletown Middies snuck past the Colerain Cardinals with a 51-45 win on Saturday thanks in part to Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Those 17 points gave her a new career-high.

The victory got Middletown back to even at 4-4. As for Colerain, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Middletown will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Monroe at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Middletown is facing Monroe at the right time seeing as Monroe is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Colerain, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-18 defeat against Seton on the 16th.
