Basketball Recap: Lacorrian Thompson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central of Coosa County over Winterboro

Central of Coosa County was the 66-49 winner over Winterboro when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Central of Coosa County Cougars fell 71-61 to the Winterboro Bulldogs on Monday.

Central of Coosa County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lacorrian Thompson, who posted 23 points. The match was Thompson's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Ballard, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Central of Coosa County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Winterboro, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central of Coosa County and Reeltown will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Winterboro, they are taking a road trip to square off against Talladega at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
