It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Salem Hills ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Spanish Fork Dons 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Dons: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Guss Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Talon Cloward, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Salem Hills' record is now 6-9. As for Spanish Fork, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
