Basketball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 49-38 to the Western Wayne Wildcats. The Chiefs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 72-41.

Despite the loss, Lakeland still got an impressive performance from David Naniewicz, who posted 12 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Chase Rosenkrans, who scored 14 points.

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Western Wayne, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 3-14.

When Lakeland and Western Wayne next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lakeland will take on Riverside and their 13-game winning streak at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Western Wayne will try to stop Holy Cross' three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
