Baseball Preview: Harpeth Indians vs. Overton Bobcats        
        
		
            
 Harpeth is 0-4 against Overton since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Harpeth Indians will be playing at home against the Overton Bobcats at 6:30  p.m. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Last Monday, Harpeth beat Hickman County 7-3. The  win was just what Harpeth needed coming off of  a  10-2 defeat in their prior  matchup.
  Michael Matheson and  Hayden Penrod made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Matheson   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned run off   two  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Meanwhile,  Penrod   struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   one  hit. Matheson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in five consecutive pitching appearances. At the plate,  Matheson  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and  an  RBI, while  Penrod  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Hudson Ealy was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Aaron Higgs, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Overton was able to grind out a solid  victory over McGavock on Tuesday, taking the game  8-3. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Overton.
 Like Harpeth, Overton also got a great game from a two-way player:  Ian Carie. He  pitched 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks). Carie was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other pitching news,  Christian Estrada-rivas tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over 4.2 innings pitched.
 Back at the plate,  Landen Griffey was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI.  Reese Christison was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Harpeth's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Overton, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record  this season.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Harpeth has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 5.1  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Overton struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 3.5. The only question left is which team can snag more.
