Basketball Recap: Northglenn Comes Up Short

Northglenn suffered their closest loss since December 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wheat Ridge Farmers by a score of 74-72. The Norsemen's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Despite the loss, Northglenn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braxton Dykstra went 6 for 14 en route to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Scrivani, who posted 12 points.

Wheat Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Mccune led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine assists. Those 28 points gave Mccune a new career-high. Isaiah Rainalter was another key player, going 10 of 20 on his way to 25 points and three steals.

Northglenn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Wheat Ridge, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Prairie View the next time they take the court. Wheat Ridge will host Prairie View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Northglenn will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
