Basketball Recap: Dutchtown Takes a Loss

Dutchtown lost against Langston Hughes last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Dutchtown Bulldogs took a blow against the Langston Hughes Panthers, falling 77-28. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Panthers are ranked third).

Laylah Simpson was Dutchtown's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Jaleia Robinson held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Li'Ara Stephenson took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Dutchtown has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Langston Hughes, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.

Dutchtown has already played their next contest (against Luella), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Langston Hughes has already played their next game, a 66-60 victory against St. Francis on the 20th.
