Volleyball Recap: Porter Ridge Comes Up Short

Porter Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Weddington Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-15, 25-21.

Brandon Tuliano paced Porter Ridge's offense, picking up four kills. Tuliano got some help from Mung Khai and his eight assists. Tuliano was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Owen Conklin, who had ten digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave him a new career-high.

Porter Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Weddington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Porter Ridge will square off against rival Marvin Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Weddington is set to take on their familiar foe Tournament Opponent at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
