Recap: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars vs. TPLS Christian Academy Lions
On Saturday, Our Lady of Mount Carmel earned a 54-41 win over TPLS Christian Academy. Given Our Lady of Mount Carmel's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 65th in Maryland, while TPLS Christian Academy is ranked 202nd in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Amya Goodsell was her usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Mowder, who scored 14 points.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for TPLS Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Frances Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 5th. TPLS Christian Academy and D will face off on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. D is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
