Softball Recap: Mount Mercy Academy Gets the Win

While Mount Mercy Academy's victory against Charter School for Applied Tech wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Magic had just enough and edged out the Eagles 9-7. The win continues a trend for the Magic in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Taylor Jahn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Jahn wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Abbagail Hunt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Tessa Freedenberg was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Mount Mercy Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.

Mount Mercy Academy's record now sits at 4-0. As for Charter School for Applied Tech, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
