Baseball Game Preview: Amador Buffaloes vs. Bear River Bruins

For the second straight game, Amador will face off against Bear River. The Buffaloes will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Bruins at 4:00 p.m.

Amador heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Monday. They came up short against Bear River, falling 8-0. The shutout was out of character for the Buffaloes seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

For Bear River's part, Kaden Nicholls tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Nicholls has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cooper Berry, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double. Nolan Allen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Bear River is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Amador, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14-1.
