Baseball Recap: Mason Has No Trouble Against St. Johns

Mason got themselves on the board against St. Johns on Tuesday, but St. Johns never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Redwings with a sharp 7-0 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Redwings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Ryan Myers was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Myers was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton McCaleb, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Travis Davis also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory got Mason back to even at 2-2. As for St. Johns, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Mason will be playing in front of their home fans against Portland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Johns, they will head out to challenge Haslett at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
