The Belton-Honea Path Bears will be playing at home against the Southside Christian Sabres at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Belton-Honea Path's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Belton-Honea Path is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-7 victory over Palmetto. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Mustangs are ranked 189th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Belton-Honea Path had a senior duo take command as Noah Thomas threw for 134 yards and four TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes and Mj Earl rushed for 107 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Belton-Honea Path also got help from Tajeh Watson-Martin, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Belton-Honea Path proved: they limited Palmetto to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. While eight picked up at least one total tackle, Sheldon Almers stood above the rest. He picked up 72 receiving yards and one touchdown. Belton-Honea Path didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged eight.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Southside Christian over Chapman in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Sabres blew the Panthers out of the water with a 55-15 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Sabres had established a 35-point advantage.
Southside Christian found their leader in freshman Max Breit, who threw for 180 yards and four TDs on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 48 yards and one score. Breit's passing game has become a key predictor of the Sabres' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 3-5 otherwise. Keldin Wrona was Breit's top target, picking up 88 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Southside Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points over those games. As for Belton-Honea Path, their record is now 11-0.
Everything came up roses for Belton-Honea Path against Southside Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-20 victory. In that matchup, the Bears amassed a halftime lead of 42-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
