Softball Recap: Bishop Amat's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Bishop Amat and St. Paul squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Bishop Amat had to settle for second. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Swordsmen. The Lancers were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Swordsmen's pitchers proved too tough.

Bishop Amat saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julyssa Jimenez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

With the defeat, Bishop Amat broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-12. As for St. Paul, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14.

Bishop Amat does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Paul, they will face off against Alta Loma at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Braves will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Swordsmen surely won't give up without a fight.
