Recap: Quinter Bulldogs vs. Wallace County Wildcats
The Quinter Bulldogs waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Wallace County with points to spare, taking the game 50-33. That's another feather in the cap for Quinter, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Quinter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Gruenbacher out in front who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gruenbacher has scored all season. Shea Salyers was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Quinter's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Wallace County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Quinter will head out on the road to challenge Dighton at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Dighton is ranked 52nd, while Quinter is ranked 63rd). Wallace County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rawlins County at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Rawlins County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three games.
