Volleyball Recap: Garner Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Garner had taken Harnett Central down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. Garner fell just short of Harnett Central by a score of 3-2. Garner was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Harnett Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Garner took Harnett Central into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 23-25, 13-25, 25-13, 15-11.

Pamela Guzman paced Garner's offense, picking up eight kills. Guzman got some help from Kaitlyn Dean and her 15 assists. Reagan Avis and Masyn Pittman kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Garner now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Harnett Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Garner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Pine Forest on the 21st. As for Harnett Central, they will welcome South Johnston at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Harnett Central's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
