Football Recap: Overton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Overton extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They lost 29-6 to the Wilson Central Wildcats. The Bobcats lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in August of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-27 score last time.

Despite the loss, Overton still got an impressive performance from Trenton Edwards, who rushed for 69 yards, and also caught one score.

As for Wilson Central, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average over those games.

Wilson Central found their leader in freshman Aden Blake, who rushed for 143 yards and one TD.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overton will venture away from home to take on Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. As for Wilson Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 9.5 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
