The Moorcroft Wolves and the Sundance Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moorcroft has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 18.
Moorcroft is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Niobrara County on Saturday. The contest between Moorcroft and Niobrara County didn't end well, with Moorcroft falling 47-32. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 14-9 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Moorcroft had strong showings from Talia Vargas, who posted nine points and eight rebounds, and Lani Gill, who scored seven points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Gill a new career-high in assists (three).
Even though they lost, Moorcroft smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Sundance ended up a good deal behind Tongue River on Saturday and lost 41-27. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Moorcroft will need to focus on slowing down Jaylin Mills, one of several Sundance players who made an impact when they last played. She earned 13 points and eight boards.
Moorcroft's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Sundance, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Moorcroft has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sundance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
