Salina Central was the 69-56 winner over Newton when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the Salina Central Mustangs and the Newton Railroaders didn't end well, with the Salina Central Mustangs falling 67-52. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Salina Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Newton, their record is now 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Salina Central and Valley Center will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Valley Center will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Salina Central surely won't give up without a fight.
