Preview: Waite Indians vs. Firestone Falcons
The Waite Indians will head out on the road to take on the Firestone Falcons at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Waite comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Monday, Waite was beaten by Lima Senior 66-9.
Firestone suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 58-27 loss at the hands of Ellet. Firestone has struggled against Ellet recently, as their game on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Waite's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.1 points per game. As for Firestone, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
