Volleyball Recap: Provo Takes a Loss

Provo lost against Green Canyon back in August of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves.

While Provo ultimately came up short, they really made Green Canyon work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 27-25, 22-25, 25-19.

Despite the defeat, Provo saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lexi Carter had 20 digs. Carter is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Charly Monson, who had nine digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

Provo dropped their record down to 7-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Green Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Provo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Timpanogos on the 16th. As for Green Canyon, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Sky View on the 16th.
