Basketball Recap: Goldsboro Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Goldsboro Cougars didn't have quite enough to beat the Northeastern Eagles and fell 63-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (55), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Goldsboro and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Northeastern, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldsboro will take on Beddingfield at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeastern, they will square off against Hertford County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hertford County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
