Basketball Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The match between them and the Mountain Pointe Pride didn't end well, with the Chaparral Firebirds falling 90-76. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (56), the Firebirds still had to take the loss.

Leading Mountain Pointe to victory were Kaden Gollhuir and Marcus Isaac. Gollhuir went 13 of 19 on his way to 31 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds, while Isaac went 10 for 12 to rack up 22 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Thanks to that strong game, Isaac now owns an excellent 47.5% shooting accuracy. Amous Price was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Mountain Pointe, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-68 defeat against Horizon on the 4th. As for Mountain Pointe, they have also already played their next match, a 76-63 win against Campo Verde on the 31st.
