Baseball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Martensdale-St. Mary's Blue Devils, falling 13-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2025.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Martensdale-St. Mary's, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wayne is set to face off against their familiar foe East Union at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Martensdale-St. Mary's will challenge rival Mount Ayr at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
