Basketball Game Preview: Dobyns-Bennett Indians vs. Greeneville Greene Devils

The Dobyns-Bennett Indians will head out to take on the Greeneville Greene Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Dobyns-Bennett put up the most points they have all season on Saturday. They blew past Elizabethton 74-54. The Indians not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since December 9, 2025 (when they won 60-32).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Greeneville against Volunteer on Friday as the team secured a 67-17 win. The Greene Devils haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Dobyns-Bennett better focus on containing Brylee Tullock and Maria Lyde as the pair were huge in Greeneville's win. Tullock went 10-for-13 en route to 28 points in addition to seven steals and five assists, while Lyde shot 75% from the field to rack up 16 points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks. The contest was Lyde's 12th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Woolsey, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 10 points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Greeneville's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Dobyns-Bennett, their victory bumped their record up to 16-11.

Dobyns-Bennett came up short against Greeneville in their previous meeting back in January, falling 52-48. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
