Monticello entered their tilt with St. Francis on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Saints. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 back in April.

Cale Holthaus was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Adam Brenny, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Monticello's record now sits at 12-3. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will welcome Moorhead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Francis, they will host Alexandria at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Saints' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
