Football Game Preview: Grace Prep Lions vs. Regents Knights

Grace Prep is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Regents is on an eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Lions will welcome the Knights at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grace Prep has given up an average of 30.7 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grace Prep lost 47-21 to Brook Hill on Friday.

Despite the loss, Grace Prep had strong showings from Kohein Jergenson, who rushed for 30 yards and a pair of scores, and Noah Bonjour, who rushed for 57 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Meanwhile, while Regents put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Brentwood Christian. The Knights really took it to the Bears for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Grace Prep better keep an eye on Jack Devine. He was instrumental in Regents' win, throwing for 285 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt, and also punching in one TD on the ground. Devine has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Blake Smith was another key player, picking up 120 receiving yards and one score.

Regents' victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Grace Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Saturday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Jergenson and Devine. Jergenson just won't slow down this season and has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 247.1 passing yards per game. Devine has been a dominant force too and has thrown 30 touchdowns (and no picks) while averaging 283.4 passing yards per game.
