Softball Game Preview: Conrad Chargers vs. Roosevelt Mustangs

The Conrad Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Roosevelt Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Conrad put up the most points they have all season on Tuesday. They blew past Wilmer-Hutchins 28-6. Considering the Chargers have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-10 to Lincoln. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Conrad, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 11-8.

Everything went Conrad's way against Roosevelt when the teams last played back in March, as Conrad made off with an 11-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
