Bonita came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Walnut, but Joya Shen wouldn't allow it. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bearcats on Wednesday with plenty of help from Shen, who had 22 digs and eight aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 13-25, 25-19.

Walnut got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Izzy Wang out in front who had 12 assists and eight digs.

Walnut was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last five matches.

Despite the defeat, Bonita saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shyanne McCutcheon had nine digs and three assists. Natalia Gerber also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Walnut's victory bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Bonita, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Walnut wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Paramount on the 10th. As for Bonita, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Glendora on the 13th.
