Basketball Game Preview: Zion Christian Academy Eagles vs. Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars

The Zion Christian Academy Eagles will square off against the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zion Christian Academy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Two weeks ago, Zion Christian Academy came up short against Santa Fe and fell 48-39. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 9-5 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Zion Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Willa Hughes dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Clara Martin, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Middle Tennessee Christian duked it out with Grace Christian Academy on Friday. The Cougars took their contest with ease, bagging a 74-13 victory over the Lions.

Middle Tennessee Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Zion Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Zion Christian Academy took a serious blow against Middle Tennessee Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 61-23.
