Baseball Recap: Make It 20 in a Row for Golden

With a playoff win on the line, Golden rose to the challenge on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Windsor Wizards 12-11. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Demons, who until this game were averaging 3.25 runs allowed.

Dylan Paulson was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Liam Leffert was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The win was the 20th in a row for Golden, bringing their record up to 25-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 21-7 record.

Looking ahead, Golden will square off against Cheyenne Mountain at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Windsor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
