Recap: Red Oak Hawks vs. Aledo Bearcats
The Red Oak Hawks and the Aledo Bearcats squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Red Oak Hawks had to settle for second. Their rough 59-35 loss to the Bearcats might stick with them for a while. Red Oak's loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Red Oak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chris Martinez jr. Despite the final result, he threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns. Taz Williams jr was another key contributor, picking up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Raycine Guillory jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 188 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries for Aledo. Guillory jr really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Kaydon Finley did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Red Oak's loss dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Aledo, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Red Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Aledo is on the road again on Friday and play against Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Abilene will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Aledo is ranked seventh).
