Softball Game Preview: Argos Dragons vs. North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays

The Argos Dragons will head out to challenge the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Argos is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Argos didn't have quite enough to beat Northwestern and fell 2-1.

Ivy Stackhouse put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting four hits from her four at bats.

In other batting news, Ava Stackhouse was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, North Judson-San Pierre came up short against Kouts on Friday and fell 7-3. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Molly Madsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Catlin Hammack made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Argos' record now sits at 8-10. As for North Judson-San Pierre, their record is now 8-13.

Argos came out on top in a nail-biter against North Judson-San Pierre in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
