Baseball Recap: Maywood Academy Falls to Robert F. Kennedy Community in First Game of Season

Maywood Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 8-4 to the Robert F. Kennedy Community Bobcats on Wednesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Maywood Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Soto, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maywood Academy will square off against Los Angeles Leadership Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Robert F. Kennedy Community, they will challenge Diego Rivera at 3:00 p.m. on February 26th.
