Volleyball Recap: Hunter Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Legrand Tahi and Mervyn Vera

Hunter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Granger Lancers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in March.

Hunter was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.

Hunter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mervyn Vera, who had 12 digs, and Legrand Tahi, who had eight kills, five digs, and two aces. Vera is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Hunter's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Granger, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Hunter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Taylorsville on the 1st. As for Granger, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cyprus on the 1st.
