Football Recap: Tohopekaliga Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Lyman last Friday, Tohopekaliga came back down to earth. The Tigers took a blow against the Hagerty Huskies on Friday, falling 49-20. The Tigers have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sabby Meassick, who threw for 228 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 31 yards.

Tohopekaliga didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Caiden White picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Royce Jenkins went supernova For Hagerty., throwing for 239 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 37 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Colton Hatfield, who picked up 73 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Tohopekaliga fell to 2-1. As for Hagerty, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Tohopekaliga and Hagerty will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Tigers see the field they'll take on Viera at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Hagerty, their break will end when they face Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
