Softball Game Preview: Madison Central Blue Devils vs. Cincinnatus Central Lions

The Madison Central Blue Devils will challenge the Cincinnatus Central Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Madison Central has struggled recently with 18 defeats in a row, while Cincinnatus Central will arrive with three straight victories.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Madison Central's offense. They came up short against Brookfield Central on Wednesday, falling 34-0.

Meanwhile, Cincinnatus Central won against Stockbridge Valley on Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Lions beat the Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-7. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Cincinnatus Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Madison Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Madison Central suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Cincinnatus Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
