Baseball Game Preview: Glenbrook South Titans vs. New Trier Trevians

For the second straight game, Glenbrook South will face off against New Trier. The Titans will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Trevians at 4:45 p.m. Glenbrook South has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while New Trier will come in with four straight victories.

On Tuesday, Glenbrook South didn't have quite enough to beat New Trier and fell 4-3.

Jack Valentinas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had over his last four contests.

At the plate, Trey Ryno made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Anthony Nottage, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

New Trier pushed their record up to 16-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Glenbrook South, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
