Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cornerstone Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Victoria East Titans as they made off with a 61-40 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Cornerstone Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xander Parra, who went 6-for-13 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jaaden Johnson, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Cornerstone Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Cornerstone Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Victoria East, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Christian will be taking part in a tournament against McCallum at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Victoria East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Needville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
