Basketball Recap: Nimitz Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Nimitz had won two straight home games and Jaden Bergeron did his part to make it three on Wednesday. The Nimitz Cougars walked away with a 70-61 win over the Westfield Mustangs thanks in part to Bergeron, who posted 27 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Carlos Rossi was another key player, putting up seven points. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

Nimitz is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Westfield, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12-1.

Nimitz will venture away from home to face off against Benjamin Davis at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nimitz is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. As for Westfield, they will welcome Aldine at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aldine also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 62.8 points per game.
