Volleyball Recap: Phillips Victorious

Phillips won the last time they faced Bruce and things went their way on Saturday too. The Loggers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Red Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Loggers.

Phillips easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-11.

Phillips found their leader in sophomore Chloe Esterholm, who had five aces.

Phillips was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matches.

Phillips' win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Bruce, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Phillips and Bruce will both be playing Chequamegon the next time they take the court. The Loggers will host the Screaming Eagles at 9:55 a.m. on Saturday, while the Red Raiders will play them later in the day, at 10:50 a.m.
