Sylmar has gone a perfect 10-0 against Van Nuys recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Wolves at 3:00 p.m. One thing working in Sylmar's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
On Wednesday, Sylmar made easy work of Canoga Park and carried off a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Analee Morales made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

In other batting news, Julia Delcid was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Maya Salceda, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Sylmar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .393 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Van Nuys lost 24-5 to Reseda on Wednesday.
Angelina Volpe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of EMILY VILLARREAL, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Sylmar is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Van Nuys, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sylmar has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Van Nuys struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Sylmar's way against Van Nuys in their previous meeting back in April, as Sylmar made off with a 16-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
