            The Petoskey Northmen will face off against the Houghton Gremlins at 2:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Petoskey is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2  runs per game  this season.
Petoskey is headed into the  game having just  posted their closest  victory since May 7th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-4  win over Alpena. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Northmen.

 Avery Leist was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted  over her last four  contests. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Mia Owens, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run.  Addisynn Segraves was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Houghton waltzed into their matchup  last Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by  an  18-3 margin over the Hematites.
 Houghton pushed their record up to 13-11 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Petoskey, their victory bumped their record up to 28-7.
