Softball Game Preview: Wapakoneta Redskins vs. Defiance Bulldogs

Wapakoneta is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out to face off against the Defiance Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Defiance took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wapakoneta, who comes in off a win.

Wapakoneta barely beat Fort Recovery the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Redskins blew past the Indians 14-7 two weeks ago. The Redskins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Defiance scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Elida by a score of 18-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Defiance has suffered since April 12, 2024.

The win got Wapakoneta back to even at 4-4. As for Defiance, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Wapakoneta might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Defiance in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
