Baseball Game Preview: Cleburne County Tigers vs. Randolph County Tigers

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cleburne County has five straight wins, Randolph County has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Monday, everything went Cleburne County's way against Woodland as Cleburne County made off with a 12-1 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Asher Brown was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Robinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season. Aiden Laminack was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Randolph County lost 13-2 to Valley on Wednesday.

Cleburne County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.7 runs. As for Randolph County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Cleburne County's way against Randolph County in their previous matchup last Tuesday, as Cleburne County made off with a 13-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cleburne County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
