Baseball Recap: Church Point's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Church Point didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Comeaux Spartans with a sharp 15-3 victory on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ethan Little was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Kohlden Dohmann, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win (which was Church Point's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs over those games. As for Comeaux, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Church Point will host Delcambre at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Church Point's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Comeaux, they will be playing at home against Gueydan at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
