Softball Recap: Sandalwood Takes a Loss

If Sandalwood was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Andrew Jackson on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints came up short against the Atlantic Coast Stingrays on Tuesday, falling 9-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Stingrays: they've now lost three in a row.

Annie Bascon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Madison Seprish was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Sandalwood's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Atlantic Coast, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandalwood will venture away from home to square off against Orange Park at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Atlantic Coast, they will head out to face off against Nease at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
