Flag Football Recap: Steamboat Springs Beats Regis Groff for Their Fifth Straight Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Steamboat Springs had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 32-6 margin over the Regis Groff Fusion. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Sailors considering their 13-point performance the game before.

Steamboat Springs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Naomi Baumgartner led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win (which was Steamboat Springs' fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.2 points on average over those games. As for Regis Groff, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Coming up, Steamboat Springs will square off against Pomona at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Sailors will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. Regis Groff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
